Ric(ard)us        1.    In the name of god amen the xijth daie of Aprill

Righton           2.    in the yeare of our lorde god 1561 that I Richard

  1. Ryghton in the p(ar)ishe of Suttebie husbandma(n) holle of
  2. mynde and goode of remembrance makes this my
  3. laste will and testament as foloweth ffirste I bequeathe
  4. my Soule to god allmightie and to all the blessed
  5. companye in heaven and my bodie to be buried w(ith)in
  6. the churchyarde of Sottebie and that the lawe requyie
  7. to be my mortuarie Item I bequeathe to Jennett my
  8. wyfe one browne quie and one browne cowe with a whyte
  9. lehoke and all the goodes that she broughte to me when we
  10. weare maryed and iij ewes and iij lambes and one fillie
  11. and one Sowe and all my lynnyn and harden cloathe
  12. and halfe my copye Item I bequeathe John harryson one
  13. whyte cowe and one ewe and a lambe and Jennett my
  14. wyfe the halfe the Saltefleshe that we have and my
  15. wyfe & children everie one of them one ewe hogge and
  16. Isabell Ingall one greate panne and twoo dooblars and
  17. Elizabeth Ingall ij peutar dooblar and the residewe
  18. of my goodes unbequeathe I geve to John Toxworthe
  19. whom I make my full executour and the copie of my
  20.   house that I wount in duringe my yeares and he to
  21. geve and distribute to the poore three goode frydayes every

Richard                        1.    In the name of God amen the 22nd day of April

Righton                                   2.    In the year of our Lord God 1561 that I Richard

  1. Ryghton in the parish of Sutterby husbandman whole of
  2. mind and good of remembrance make this my
  3. last will and testament as followeth  First I bequeath
  4. my Soul to God Almighty and to all the blessed
  5. company in heaven and my body to be buried within
  6. the churchyard of Sutterby and that the law requires
  7. to be my mortuary  Item I bequeath to Jennett my
  8. wife one brown quie and one brown cow with a white
  9. lehoke and all the goods that she brought to me when we
  10. were married and 3 ewes and 3 lambs and one filly
  11. and one sow and all my linnen and harden cloth
  12. and half my copy  Item I bequeath John Harryson one
  13. white cow and one ewe and a lamb and Jennett my
  14. wife the half the Saltflesh that we have and my
  15.   wife & children every one of them one ewe hogg and
  16. Isabell Ingall one great pan and two doblers and
  17. Elizabeth Ingall 2 pewter doblers and the residue
  18. of my goods unbequeathed I give to John Toxworthe
  19. whom I make my full executor and the copyhold of my
  20. house that I lived in during my years and he to
  21. give and distribute to the poor three Good Fridays every
  22. one day 6s. 8d. and to pay my debts and legacies
  23. and to bring honestly to the ground  Item I bequeath
  24. to Jennette my wife half an oxgang of land and
  25. meadow with it and a little house in the garth and she
