Carden 2. Sutterbie beinge sicke of bodie but hole and p(er)fecte of memorie
- do make this my last will and testament in man(ner) and forme
- followinge the xxvijth daie of november anno d(o)mi(ni) 1570
- Inp(ri)mis I comend my soule to almightie god my bodie I will
- to be buried in the high quier of Sutterbie I geve to the
- church of Sutterbie vjd Item to the cathedrall churche of
- lincoln vjd Item to the pore people of Sutterbie xijd
- Item I geve my best gowne to agnes smyth and John
- Carden Item to George Smyth and his wife iij bushell of
- barley Item I geve John Carden my best cobberd and

Translation
Thomas 1. In the name of God amen I Thomas Carden clerk of
Carden 2. Sutterby being sick of body but whole and perfect memory
- do make this my last will and testament in manner and form
- following the 27th day of November anno domini 1570
- Firstly I commend my soul to Almighty God my body I will
- to be buried in the high choir of Sutterby I give to the
- Church of Sutterby 6d. Item to the Cathedral Church of
- Lincoln 6d. Item to the poor people of Sutterby 12d.
- Item I give my best gown to Agnes Smyth and John
- Carden Item to George Smyth and his wife 3 bushels of
- barley Item I give to John Carden my best cupboard and
- one great platter Item to Thomas Carden 6d. Item to
- Elizabeth Heapes 10s. one chest and one hog Item to John
- Carden one gymber Item I give to Agnes Smyth 6d.
- The rest of my goodes ungiven and unbequested my debt <paid> I
- will to be at the disposition of William Carden the younger
