  6. of Jesus christ My Lord I shall Attaine to
  7. sitt doune with him In his Throne In Life
  8. Ever: Lastinge & My body to the dust wheare of it
  9. was Maid to be buried In the accustomed place of
  10. Sutterby Making this My Last Will & testement
  11. Imp(rimi)s I give: and be queath unto Willm Plumer: My Eldest sonne
  12. five & Twenty pounds: Lawfull Money of El Enguland to be
  13. paid unto him at the age of One & Twenty yeares: Allso
  14. I give unto: Joseph: Plumer My youngest sonne: the
  15. somme of fifteene pounds of the Like corant Engulish
  16. Money to be paid unto him at the a foresad age of One
  17. and Twenty yeares: Allso: I give & be queath unto

Translation

  1. May the 18th Day 1670

2.Lincoln                                 I Joseph Plumer of Sutterby In the county aforesaid <yeoman>

3.Lindsey                                   being sick of body but of perfect sense & memory

4.Candleshoe                         first committing my soul & spirit into the hand of

  1. Almighty God hoping by the spotless righteousness
  2. of Jesus Christ my Lord I shall attain to
  3. sit down with him in his throne in life
  4. everlasting & my body to the dust whereof it
  5. was made to be buried in the accustomed place of
  6. Sutterby making this my last will & testament
  7. Firstly I give and bequeath unto William Plumer my eldest son
  8. five & twenty pounds lawful money of England to be
  9. paid unto him at the age of one & twenty years Also
  10. I give unto Joseph Plumer my youngest son the
  11. sum of fifteen pounds of the like current English
  12. money to be paid unto him at the aforesaid age of one
  13. and twenty years Also I give & bequeath unto
  14. Mary Plumer my daughter twenty pounds of the like
  15. current English money to be paid unto her at the age
  16. of eighteen years and also my will is that if any
  17. of these my three children William & Joseph & Mary shall
  18. die before their legacy or portion shall be
  19. due to be paid unto them that then my will is that his or
  20. her portion or portions shall be given to the surviving
  21. child or children according to the true intent & mean
  22. -ing of this my last will & testament. Also I give &
  23. bequeath unto my sister Mary Harison the sum of twenty
  24. shillings to be paid unto her within the space of three
