Will, Robert Swann of Sutterby, 6th March 1695
Classical Transcription
- In the Name of God Amen, the sixt day of March 1695
- I Robert Swann Recto(r) of Sutterby in the County of Lincolne, being
- of perfect memory praised be God, do make this my last will and
- Testament, in maner and forme following viz: first I bequeth
- my soul into the hands of Almighty god my Maker, hopeing that
- through the meritorious death and pashon of Jesus Christ, to recei
- -ve free pardon and forgiveness of all my sinns; and as for my
- body to be buried in Christion buryall at the discretion of my
- Exetrixes hereafter nominated. Item I give unto my daughter
- Catherine Grass the bed whereon I lye with the forniture
- belonging it, Item I give unto My daughter Anne
- Hare the bed whereon shee usually Lyeth with the
- forniture belonging their to, Item I give unto my
- kinsman Thomas Swann all my wereing Clothes both
- lining and woollin, Item I give unto Widd(ow) yates three
- shillings four pence, Item All the rest of my goods
- and Chattells whatsover I give unto my two said daughter<s>
- Catherine Gras and Ann Hare, to be Equally divided betwixt
- them, after my debts, legacies, and funerall Charges be paid
- by them whome I make Joynt Executrix of this my
- last will and Testam(en)t revoking all other wills, In wittness

Translation

- I Robert Swann Rector of Sutterby in the County of Lincoln being
- of perfect memory praised be God, do make this my last will and
- testament in manner and form following viz: first I bequeath
- my soul into the hands of Almighty God my maker hoping that
- through the meritorious death and passion of Jesus Christ, to recei
- -ve free pardon and forgiveness of all my sins; and for my
- body to be buried in Christian burial at the discretion of my
- executrices hereafter nominated. Item I give unto my daughter
- Catherine Grass the bed whereon I lie with the furniture
- belonging to it. Item I give unto my daughter Anne
- Hare the bed whereon she usually lies with the
- furniture belonging thereto. I give unto my kinsman
- Thomas Swann all my wearing clothes both
- linen and woollen. Item I give unto widow Yates three
- shillings four pence. Item all the rest of my goods
- and chattels whatsoever I give unto my two said daughters
- Catherine Gras and Ann Hare to be equally divided between
- them after my debts, legacies and funeral charges be paid
- by them whom I make joint executrices of this my
