  1. In the Name of God Amen. I John Wells
  2. of Sutterby in the County of Lincoln Husband:
  3. :man being weak in Body but of perfect
  4. mind & Memory praised be God for it do make
  5. & Ordain th(is) my last will & Testam(en)t in manner
  6. & form following. That is to say 1st & princi:
  7. :pally I Bequeath my Soul to God who gave it
  8. hopeing to be Sav(e)d thro(ugh) the Merits of X(hrist) Jesus my
  9. Sav(iou)r my Body to the ground to be buried at
  10. the discretion of my Executrix hereafter Nam(e)d
  11. Impr(imis) I give & Bequeath to my Son Tho: Wells
  12. five pounds to be p(ai)d w(i)th in 12 months after my
  13. Decease.
  14. Item I give & bequeath to my 4 grand children
  15. John Smith. Ann Smith Margret Smith.  & Rachell
  16. Smith 5 pounds apeice to be p(ai)d w(i)thin 2 Years
  17. after my Decease
  18. Item the Rest of my goods & chattells I give &
  19. bequeath to my Daughter Ann Smith whom I
  20. Nominate & appoint whole & Sole Executrix of
  21. th(i)s my Last will & Testam(en)t And lastly I do
  22. revoke & renounce all oth(e)r will or wills by

23        me formerly made & declare th(i)s to be my last

Translation
