Will, William Rhodes of Sutterby, 19th January, 1770
Classical Transcription
- In the Name of of God Amen The Nineteenth Day of January One Thousand Seven Hundred
- & Seventy, I Will(ia)m Rhodes of Sutterby in the County of Lincoln, being very Sick and weak
- in Body, but of perfect mind and Memory thanks be to God. Therefore calling to mind the
- Mortallity of my Body, and knowing that it is appointed for all Men Once to Die, Do make
- Constitute and Ordain this my last Will [2] and Testament in manner and
- Form following.
- First I Give, and bequeath to Elizabeth Rhodes my beloved Daughter the Sum of Fifty pounds
- of lawful Money of England, together with One Bed (which she shall chuse,) and also all my
- China and Silver Spoons.
- Also, I Give and bequeath to my Son Edw(ar)d Rhodes the Sum of Fifty pounds, of lawful
- money of England, together with the Mare which is now called his.
- Also I Give and bequeath to my Son Will(ia)m Rhodes the Sum of Fifty pounds of lawful Money
- of England, together with the Mare & Sheep which are now called his.
- Also I Give and bequeath to my Son George Rhodes the Sum of Fifty Pounds of lawful Money
- of England, and Also One Ewe & Lamb.

- of England, and Also One Ewe & Lamb.
- Also I Give and bequeath to my Son in law Geoge Houlden the Sum of Five pounds of
- lawful Money of England
- Also I do Authorize and appoint Will(ia)m Rhodes of Langton George Rhodes of Gunby and
Rich(ar)d
- Vickers of Legborn to be Trustees for my above mentioned children, to Manage their Affairs
For
- them, whilst they shall come of age, And to Agree with my Executor hereafter Mentioned what is
- best to be done concerning them and their Effects.
- And I also Allow my Executor hereafter mentioned the full Space of Twelve Months, to right
- his Affairs, and pay the Above Legacies, if he Shall be required So to do by their Trustees above
- Mentioned.
- And lastly I Give and bequeath to my Eldest Son John Rhodes all the rest of my Goods
- and Chattels of what Kind Soever they be, Whom Also I make Constitute and Ordain my Sole
- Executor of this my last Will and Testament. And I do Utterly disallow Revoke and Disanul

- ways, before Named Willed & Bequeathed, Ratifying and Confirming this and no other to be my last

- lawful money of England
- Also I do authorize and appoint William Rhodes of Langton George Rhodes of Gunby and
Richard
- Vickers of Legborn to be Trustees for my above mentioned children, to manage their affairs
