The Mediaeval Body – Professor Lynda Payne

On Tuesday lunchtime, 10th February 2026, we had a “Sandwich Filler Talk” in the Franklin Hall, Spilsby. Prof Lynda Payne spoke on “The Mediaeval Body: How it worked.”

Professor Lynda Payne who is a Professor Emerita of the University of Missouri – Kansas City. Long-term interest in medical history – especially surgery and war. Fellow of the Linnean Society. Locally keen involvement in Louth Museum – sat on the Board & Trustee of Louth Ants and Nats, gave an excellent talk full of interest and facts interspersed with humour that told of how the human body was looked on for many, many years up until “modern medicine” came about.

Thank you Lynda, we all enjoyed it very much and hope you will keep in touch with us.
