On the 4th December 2025, we had a ZOOM TALK by Andrew and Victoria MacDonald entitled “An introduction to East Asian ceramics”.
Andrew and Victoria are from “The Pot Shop” on Steep Hill in Lincoln and have instructed us on the making of several pottery projects such as pots, owls and green men in workshops held in Swaby, so are well known to the members of the Horde.
Victoria did her degree in ceramics and spent a year in Japan during her training. Andrew has visited Japan and is interested in the making of all types of ceramics.
The talk was very interesting and informative, giving us an insight into what is a vast and complicated subject ranging a huge timescale. I enclose some screenshots of the talk to give a flavour of it. We did try to record the talk, and hopefully that will be available to those who, for whatever reason, were unable to see it on the night.
It is always a pleasure to see and hear from Andrew and Victoria, and we hope to join them in a workshop again in the future. Thank you very much for this evening.
