Yesterday a small group of us paid a visit to Cogglesford Water Mill in Sleaford at the invitation of Dr Simon Pawley.
Simon recently gave us a very interesting talk on water mills and offered to show us around the mill at Sleaford. It was a lovely sunny day and Simon walked us along the river bank up to the mill, where he told us the history of this mill and the area before taking us into the building and describing the workings. The mill was running at the time of our visit and in the background you could hear the trundling noises of the shafts and wheels. Many thanks to Simon and the team at the mill for a great visit.
The Mill is open to the public and has its own little mill shop and café (see their website www.cogglesfordwatermill.co.uk for details), it is well worth a visit.
