On Friday evening, the 24th of October 2025 at 1900hrs in Stickford Church, we had a very pleasant time in the company of Kate Witney, who gave us a talk on the Music of the Luttrell Psalter. After cutting a themed cake supplied by the Artisan Bakery of Firsby, Kate started her talk by explaining to those who did not know what the Luttrell Psalter was, she had her copy there for all to see, along with a selection of instruments of the era.
Kate demonstrated the instruments and played videos of them making “music”, she also sang some of the tunes. We had a short break for tea and cakes halfway through and Kate carried on with her talk ending by playing a You Tube video of life in the time of the Psalter.
